Craft idea # 1  Dog Leash

Materials needed:  7' of designer ribbon, 7' of 1" webbing, 1 swivel snap, some heavy duty thread.

Step 1.  Sew the ribbon to the webbing.

Step 2.  Fold a 6" loop on one end, turn under 1/2" sew a box with an x in it.

Step 3.  Lace ribbon/webbing through buckle (about 1 1/2") fold  and sew a box with an x in it.

You are done.

Craft Idea #2  Easy Dog Leash

Materials needed:  1 cheap dog leash, designer ribbon

Step 1.  Sew ribbon to leash.

You are done.

Craft Idea #3  Simple purse with zipper

Materials needed : Fabric for the outside , lining, zipper, thread to match fabric.

1.  Cut 1 piece of fabric 1 inche wider than what you want to end up with, and 2 times the height plus 1 inch.

2. Cut 1 piece of lining the same size as above.

3. With right sides together, place zipper between pieces, and sew together near zipper teeth.

Craft Idea tip - It is easier if the zipper has no stops at either end, so you can remove the zipper slide, just be certain you know which way the zipper pulls, as many zippers only allow the zipper slide to go one way.

4.  Bring other ends of fabric and lining to other side of zipper, and sew together near zipper teeth.  Make certain you have equal amount of zipper as in step 3.

5.  Turn work, and stitch along zipper, about  1/8 inch on fabric, both sides of zipper.  If you have removed the zipper slide replace it now.  Be sure the pull will be to the outside of the purse.

Craft Idea tip - If you used a zipper that allowed you to remove the zipper slide, you may want to pull the zipper apart so you don't catch anything else in you stitching.

6.   Sew one side of the purse together with the zipper located however far from the top you want it to be when finished. ( See Photo)  Your lining and fabric should be even from top to bottom.

Craft Idea tip - I used a black zipper so you could better see it in the illustration, but for your purse I suggest you get the zipper in a color to match your purse.

7.  Sew outside fabric together below zipper, leave lining open.

8.  Above zipper sew all pieces together going across zipper, and about 1/2 inch below.

Craft Idea tip - sew back and forth across zipper teeth and all starting and stopping points 4 or 5 times to keep the stitchs from breaking out.

9.  Sew about 1/2 inch at bottom with all pieces together.  This should leave a large enough opening in the lining so you can turn your work.

10. Pull the work through the opening.  You should have the lining now as the outside.

11. Sew the open side of the lining shut.

Craft Idea tip - Sew as close to the edge as possible, and try not to get any of the outside fabric in the seam.

12. Open the zipper, and pull the work through.  Your done.

Craft Idea tip - To open zipper, simply pull it apart starting at the zipper slide.
